In this view from above, Pinnacle Peak
stands out prominently (though down lower) through a opening in the north end of the
McDowell Mountains, in north Scottsdale. The Four
Seasons Resort is located just about where the right slope of that peak
disappears behind the closer, higher-appearing, boulder-covered, rounded mountain
(known locally to some as Troon Mountain) which takes up much of the right side
of this picture.
Just behind that rocky dome, and slightly to its left, you can see the half
dark / half light profile of Black Mountain, adjacent to the
town of Carefree. Far in the background are the Bradshaw Mountains.
This view is looking to the northwest.
