The Praying Monk from Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain, looking west.  The vertical cliffs and the "Monk" on their upper right are made of the age (approximately 30 million years old) Camel's Head Formation. 
   A / , it makes up some of the Valley's more colorful rock formations, including those at Papago Park, and here forms the entire west end of Camelback Mountain. 
   It sits on top of (~1.7 billion year old) , which forms the slope below the cliffs.  The contact between the two formations represents more than a billion years of missing history.
