Colorful is one of the many adjectives people use when describing the
Arizona desert. The colors change from hour to hour, day to day, season to season.
The White Tank Mountains display the whole array, painted on a colossal
bulge of rock, domed up during the
Period. These rocks occur together here with an ancient intrusion of
that cooled about the time the dinosaurs were killed off, at the end of the
