Besh-ba-Gowah Ruins, in Globe,
Arizona, are among the best of the many archaeological sites in the Southwest. Here
you can walk within the structures of a 700 year old Salado village.
Globe lies at the eastern end of the Superstition Mountains, and can
be reached from Phoenix via either the Apache Trail, or US Highway 60.
The ruins are partially intact, and partially reconstructed, and there is a
nice little museum on the site as well. Some of the buildings are several stories
tall.
