In this view, you can see Mr. Thompson's version of some Anasazi
cliff dwellings. Also within the garden are representations of some of the
Sunnyslope neighborhood's buildings. Where Mr. Thompson got his inspiration for all
of this is unknown, as he died many years ago, and we have no way of knowing his story.
But his love of rocks is evident, as numerous colorful specimens adorn his
creation -- among them volcanic "bombs", petrified wood, and just plain old
boulders!
The Sunnyslope Rock Garden is open from
3:00pm until dusk, on the first
Friday
of each month. Visits can be arranged by calling Ms. Marion Blake at 602-501-7212.
