PLEASE NOTE: THIS
WONDERFUL MUSEUM IS NOW CLOSED, DUE TO STATE FISCAL PROBLEMS AND
MISGUIDED DECISIONS.
The Arizona Mining and Mineral Museum is housed in a very
cool-looking building near the State Capitol, in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. It is
operated by the Arizona Department of
Mines and Mineral Resources, and is largely staffed by volunteers. Also
inside are a small gift shop and bookstore.
The building is located at 1502 West Washington, and its hours currently are
8am to 5pm on weekdays, 11am to 4pm on Saturdays, and it closed on Sundays and State
Holidays. Admission is only $2 for adults, so they would surely appreciate a small
donation, too. If you like rocks, you must see this place!
Return to the map of "Rock Art in the Valley of
the Sun" for more view locations.
You can also send this as an E-Postcard
to your friends!
